Job Title: Teacher
Location: Kaplan International
Duration of contract: 30/06/2010 – 01/08/2010 (with possible extension to 15/08/2010)
Working hours:
15-22.5 hours teaching per week
Teachers working on the residential course will also lead activity sessions and be involved in student supervision during their working day and their maximum working week will be 48 hours.
Job description:
As part of a team of Teachers and other centre staff, you will:
- Teach classes of up to 15 students
- Prepare lessons and complete necessary paperwork
- Supervise students
- Liaise with foreign group leaders, as required by the Center Manager or director of studies
- Attend teachers meetings and development sessions
You’ll also be required to:
- Keep your eyes open for any welfare issues
- Keep the teacher in charge or DoS up-to-date with any issues with your students.
- Ensure children know what to do in the event of a fire or other emergency
- Provide a warm welcome for students on their first day at the center
- Create a appropriate learning environment for your class
- Keep smiling and enjoy your Kaplan International experience

Accommodation
Staff choosing to work on the Residential course may be required to live on site and if so, you’ll be sharing a comfortable twin room with a colleague. If you do share a room, we’ll give you an extra £25 per week. If you choose to work on the Homestay course accommodation can be arranged for you on request.

Salary range
Homestay course: From £204.30 to £243.15 per week, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Residential course: From £270 to £310 per week, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
You will also be entitled to 0.6 days paid holiday per week worked which may be taken at the end of the working period and during the contract in exceptional circumstances only. Over a 4-week contract this gives you 2.4 days paid leave and over a 6-week contract, 3.6 days paid leave.
