Bournemouth University graduates involved in making of Avatar

James Cameron’s record-breaking film Avatar is making cinematic history thanks, in part, to the involvement of graduates from BU’s world-class Media School. 

Avatar is now the highest-earning film ever, and BU has identified over 50 graduates and former staff members who worked on this groundbreaking project. A number of the graduates involved completed undergraduate degrees in Computer Visualisation and Animation. 

This is one of a number of BU undergraduate programs onto which students can progress on successful completion of the Bournemouth University International Foundation Certificate (BUIFC) in Social Science and Media (and achieving specified grades and meeting any additional entry requirements), delivered at Kaplan International College Bournemouth. Students completing this course can also gain entry to one of the following BA Honours degrees at BU Media School: 

- Advertising and Marketing Communications- Communication and Media
- Computer Games Animation- Computer Animation Arts
- Interactive Media Production- Marketing
- Multimedia Journalism- Public Relations
- Scriptwriting for Film and Television- Soundtrack Production
- Television Production 

Whichever degree students choose, they will be part of BU’s world-renowned Media School – the largest centre of professional higher education for the film and media industries in the UK, offering some of the world’s best education and training in the fields of practical creative media.
