What are General English Courses?

General English Courses focus on the four main aspects of language: reading, writing, listening and speaking. These courses offer a semi-intensive English education that will help you learn quickly and effectively.

You’ll also learn vocabulary and grammar, and how to speak in formal and informal discussions, interviews and strategies.

  • Location: All schools in UK, USA, Ireland, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Malta
  • Start Dates: Every Monday
  • Course Length: 2 Weeks +
  • Minimum Age: 16
  • Requirements: Elementary to Advanced English
  • Class Size: 10–15
  • Lessons per Week: 20 General English (15 hours) + 7 Structured Study (5.25 hours)
  • Timetable: All courses are Monday-Friday, with morning and afternoon classes only (general timetable below)

Course Structure

45 minute lessons for a minimum of 2 weeks.

20 Lessons of General English:

Focus on the four main aspects of language: reading, writing, listening and speaking. These courses offer a semi-intensive English education that will help you learn quickly and effectively.

7 Sessions of Structured Study:

Take advantage of resources and activities such as language exercises, course books, online and offline materials, study clubs and project work.

Certification

At the end of the course, receive a Kaplan International Colleges Certificate of Achievement documenting your language level and attendance.
