Kaplan provides English courses for people of all ages! If you’re over 50 and you’d like to improve your English, to help your career or just to make traveling easy, our senior English Courses will get you there.
What are 50+ English Courses?
50+ English Courses are special English language programs designed for people over 50. They offer you the chance to learn English in an overseas location, with other mature students. The course will help you to boost your communication, reading and writing skills and build your confidence when in English-speaking countries.
A light course load of 15 hours of tuition and three organized social events a week means you’ll get a good balance of lessons and sightseeing, and get the chance to mingle with other mature students of different nationalities. Accommodation options are diverse, and can be adapted to suit individual needs.

Location: UK: Bath and Torquay
Bath: March 18, May 13 and September 9
Torquay: April 22, May 28 and August 27
Course Length: 2 Weeks
Minimum Age: 50
Requirements: Elementary to Advanced English
Class Size: 8–15
Lessons per Week: 20 General English (totaling 15 hours)
Timetable: All courses are Monday-Friday, with morning and afternoon classes only (general timetable below)
45 minute lessons for 2 weeks.
20 Lessons of General English:
Focus on the four main aspects of language: reading, writing, listening and speaking. These courses offer a semi-intensive English education that will help you learn quickly and effectively.
3 organized social activities each week.
At the end of the course, receive a Kaplan International Colleges Certificate of Achievement documenting your language level and attendance.
