Founded in 1850, the University of Utah is a public university with approximately 28,000 students and is located in scenic Salt Lake City, the state capital of Utah. The University's campus has a park-like setting and stretches into the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, where it once served as the host of the Winter Olympic Games in 2002.

Academic Pathways Programs at University of Utah:

Kaplan International Center's Global Pathways Program is your first step toward a degree from the University of Utah.

This innovative program is your opportunity to experience life at a top American university while preparing for your Bachelor's degree. The Kaplan Global Pathways Program at the University of Utah offers specialized areas of academic study along with intensive English language training.

Undergraduate Bachelor's Program: Undergraduates will study with Kaplan Global Pathways for 3 semester terms earning 36 university credits. Kaplan Global Pathways courses integrate English lessons with academic coursework in an American classroom. Once you meet the graduation requirements, you'll be admitted to one of University of Utah's Bachelor's degree programs as a Sophomore.

Programs Fees and Dates:

Total Price for Three Terms: $23,800*
All Global Pathways students will take 12 credit hours in the first term. Students may take courses (with approval from the academic advisor) with the credit hours ranging from 12-16, and have the hours and any special fees for these courses covered by the initial tuition paid.  If a student’s number of hours exceeds 16, the student owes non-resident tuition for the additional hours above 16, and all of the special fees.

The following housing options are available to our Global Pathways students:

On Campus Dormitory: Live on campus in the student dormitories with local Americans and access to the University of Utah housing office and cafeteria, which was once used to host Olympic Village for the 2002 Winter Olympics.

  • Fully furnished double rooms with shared bath.
  • 12 Meals a week included
  • Free Wireless Internet
  • Access to laundry and dining facilities
  • Access to free on campus transportation
  • Access to free local public transportation (15-20 minutes to downtown Salt Lake City).
  • Minimum Age: 17

Homestay: Live with a local host family, so you can practice your English and experience American culture, while you study on your program. 

  • Fully furnished single and double rooms with shared bath.
  • Breakfast and dinner daily.
  • Near public transportation (30-45 minutes to campus).
  • Minimum Age: 17
