5 Reasons Why Miami is the Best City in the USA
Miami has it all – great beaches, amazing people, and beautiful wildlife. That's what makes it the best city in the US. There's also a Kaplan English school on Ponce De Leon Blvd.
Discover why Kaplan English students can't wait to visit Miami.
1: Great Beaches
It just wouldn't be Miami without beaches. There are a lot of things that make the city great but bikinis and ocean views are probably what it's most famous for. Florida, in general, is unmatched when it comes to having the country's most beautiful coastlines.
5 beaches you should definitely visit:
- South Beach
- Virginia Key Beach
- Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park
- Homestead Bayfront Park and Marina
- Haulover Beach
2: Awesome Weather
You can take advantage of the beaches more often because of the weather, which is almost always sunny and warm. Even though it can get a little humid, there's usually a great breeze coming off the sea to cool you down. It almost never gets cold, making it a top vacation destination for those trying to escape colder climates in the winter.
3: Latin Culture
With the majority of its residents fluent in Spanish, Miami has earned the nickname “Capital of Latin America”. Immigrants from all over Central and South America flock to the city by the thousands. From Little Havana to Little Haiti, it can almost feel like you're in a foreign country when visiting here.

4: Unmatched Nightlife
Speaking of the Latin influence, you'll be right at home in Miami if you learn how to salsa. This is a city that
really knows how to party. Downtown is filled with glamorous, high energy night clubs. You might even end up dancing just feet from a major celebrity.
If that's not your scene, don't worry. There are plenty of smaller bars and relaxed lounges throughout the city as well. Maybe just enjoy a beer, watch the game, or check out the amazing Latin music scene.
Either way, you won't be disappointed by what Miami offers when it comes to nightlife. There's a reason it's neon lit, oceanfront clubs are so iconic.
Miami may be known for party animals and beaches, but there's plenty of other animal life and nature to be enjoyed here, too. It sits directly next to the famous Florida Everglades, the largest tropical wilderness in the country and home to alligators, crocodiles, dolphins, panthers, and more. You can explore the massive swamp by airboat, buggy, or even bicycle.
For something a little more exotic, there's the Miami Metro Zoo or “Zoo Miami”. Better yet is the Zoological Wildlife Foundation, where you can not only look at the animals but interact with them. If you've always wanted to pet a baby tiger or grizzly bear and hold a lemur or giant snake, this is your chance.
Miami is such an amazing city, we're sure there's something we missed. What would you add? Make sure to give us your opinion in the comments section below.
