5 Reasons Why San Francisco is the Best City in the USA
San Francisco, also known as “The City by the Bay”, is the best city in America. Kaplan offers two English schools here, with one on Montgomery St. and the other on the campus of the prestigious University of California, Berkeley.
Here are the top five things that make San Francisco such an enticing choice for Kaplan students who want to learn English.
1: Great Food
San Francisco is widely regarded as one of the very best food cities in the country. Within the San Francisco Bay Area, there are 38 restaurants with at least one Michelin star, the highest award a restaurant can receive. Also within the Bay Area is Napa Valley, known worldwide for the wine it produces.
With so many food options and great wine to wash it down with, it's easy to enjoy your meal times when living in San Francisco.

2: Public Transportation
The only city with a public transportation system as good as San Francisco's is New York. However, San Fran has something New York doesn't. It's home to the only remaining manually operated system of cable cars.
These are more a tourist attraction than a regularly used means of transportation, but we still couldn't imagine the city without that iconic image of cable cars moving along the hilly streets.
3: Silicon Valley
The Bay Area is home to the famous Silicon Valley, a haven for technology firms from small to large. If someone wants to make it in tech, this is definitely the place to be.

San Francisco's theater scene is considered among the elite of the country. It features everything from major productions to local pieces. They're also not afraid to experiment and try something new.
That's because the audiences are so dedicated and open to supporting great theater. Plus, there's the legendary Fillmore and the fact that the late Robin Williams got his start here.
5: Sports Teams
You may have heard of the San Francisco 49ers, one of the most successful and popular NFL teams in the league. They have fans across the nation who support them wherever they happen to play that week. Then there's the city's major league baseball team, the Giants, who captured their first title in 2010 and promptly repeated in 2012.
If you're not a fan of either team, no problem. Chances are there's a bar somewhere in the city dedicated to your favorite franchise.
