Kaplan Students Attend World Premiere of Thor: The Dark World

In September hundreds of Kaplan students took part in a special photo contest. Students from Kaplan's UK and Ireland schools were challenged to recreate scenes from the trailer of Marvel's Thor: The Dark World.

The prize for the best photo was 4 tickets to the film's world premiere in London and the chance to walk down the red carpet with stars such as Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston.

Each school hosted a special Thor Day to celebrate the competition. More than 400 photos were taken in front of some iconic landmarks. Here are a few of the best:

Francesco Mainoldi from Italy strikes a pose on Calton Hill, Edinburgh.

Alvaro Manrique De Lara from Spain, Reneide Campelo from Brazil and Hafner Edmundo from the Canary Islands enjoy a Thor-themed boat ride on the River Thames, London.

Sangmin Kim from South Korea channels the power of Aasgard at Christchurch Cathedral in Dublin.

A panel of judges including representatives from Marvel and Kaplan had a difficult time choosing the winner. They eventually decided on this photo by four students at Kaplan's English school in Cambridge.

The Winner:

The winning photo was taken outside Cambridge University.

Ernano Molino, 23, from Italy; Rafael Fraga, 23, and Dalila Simila, 25, from Brazil; and Maria Fernanda Rivera, 18, from Venezuela won the photo contest.

They became the envy of their fellow students by being chauffeur-driven from Cambridge to the red carpet in central London for an exciting evening of glitz and glamour.

The winners outside Kaplan Cambridge.

It was a very exciting evening. Ernano, Rafael, Dalila and Maria saw all of the stars of the film. They were even on the red carpet at the same time as Natalie Portman.

The film was lots of fun and the students enjoyed a Kaplan Experience that they will never forget. For more Thor photos and the winner's premiere experience. visit the winners page for the full story.
