[email protected]: Prince William and Kate Middleton visit Cambridge
The Royal family is famous all over the world and one of the first things that tourists associate with England; so you can imagine how excited our Kaplan Cambridge students were when they got to meet Prince William and Kate last week! We spoke to student Angela Lorena Hurtado D'Santiago from Venezuela about her part in this special day.
Last week, Prince William and his wife Catherine visited Cambridge; the city in which they are the Duke and Duchess. It was the first time they had been to the city since their marriage last year in April.
When they arrived at our world famous University city, the Duke and the Duchess were met by the local authorities and greeted by the large crowds who had gathered outside the Town Hall.
Justin, our Social Organiser arranged for all of us to go and see them and we managed to get very close! Kate looked particularly amazing and had a new hairstyle.
The Royal couple then went to the streets to say hello to the crowds. They shook hands and talked with everybody, including us! One student even had a funny conversation with William:
Student: Nice to meet you! I love England!
Prince William: Ha ha, Good! Are you visiting?
Student: I’m studying English here!
William: What are you studying?
Student: English, of course!
Before they left the city, the couple visited a homeless shelter, the university and a music and dance show performed by children at a local school.
Overall, it was a fantastic day and a great experience! I definitely picked the right time to study in Cambridge!
