New Zealand are the world champions at rugby and natives are big fans of tennis, cricket and softball.
New Zealand has a temperate climate. This means it is never too hot or cold. They have long warm summers, which is great for spending time at the many beaches. In the winters it is cold enough to snow. This is good news for winter sports. There are plenty of opportunities to go skiing and snowboarding.
Maori culture is an important part of New Zealand’s history. Maoris are the indigenous Polynesian people of New Zealand. They have a unique culture with their own language, distinctive crafts and performing arts. The New Zealand rugby team performs a haka dance before each match. This is a traditional Maori war cry. Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand. The Economist magazine wrote that Auckland was one of the top ten most liveable cities in the world.
