The latest travel updates to our destinations - 13 Jan 2022

Following the latest news around the world related to the Omicron variant of Covid-19, there are additional rules and regulations you should be aware of before traveling to study with Kaplan International and Alpadia Language Schools. Restrictions and testing requirements per destination country are detailed below.
We are pleased to say that all our schools in these destinations continue to be open as usual. In the event that students test positive shortly after arrival or during their studies, they are required to self-isolate as per local government guidelines.

United Kingdom – Travellers entering the UK are required to book and pay for a lateral flow test to be taken with 48 hours of arrival. Travellers who are not fully vaccinated need to take a PCR test 2 days before travel, quarantine for 10 days and take a PCR test on days 8 and 10.

Ireland – Travellers to Ireland who are not fully vaccinated need to take a PCR test 72 hours before arriving in Ireland. Fully vaccinated travellers do not need to take a test.

United States – The US requires all non-immigrant, non-citizen, adult air travelers to the United States to be fully vaccinated and to provide proof of vaccination status prior to boarding an airplane to the United States. In addition, the US also requires proof of a negative COVID test within 24 hours of travel for all vaccinated and unvaccinated international travelers. Schools are open for in-person learning with preventative measures; including daily temperature checks, mandated mask-wearing, a rigorous cleaning schedule, and easy access to multiple sanitizing stations.

Canada – A PCR test is required within 72 hours before arriving in Canada for both unvaccinated and fully vaccinated travelers. In addition, Canada may test arrivals at the airport. If travelers are selected to test, they will need to self-isolate for 1-4 days until test results are ready. Starting January 15, 2022, unvaccinated travelers (visitors, students, and workers) will NOT be able to enter Canada. Only those who are fully vaccinated with an approved vaccine will be able to enter.

France Fully vaccinated passengers arriving from Europe, Schengen or a Green list country can enter without restrictions. Travelers on the Orange list are required to take a PCR test 48 hours before arrival and self-isolate for seven days, this includes fully-vaccinated travelers from Orange list countries.

Germany – All travelers must take a PCR test within 48 hours of travel. All vaccinated travelers arriving from the EU or Schengen countries can enter Germany, otherwise a test must be completed upon arrival. Travelers from high-risk areas must complete a digital registration on entry and quarantine for 10 days. If travelers have a negative test result, quarantine can end on day 5.

Switzerland – Those vaccinated must take a PCR test upon arrival and have a follow up test within 4-7 days.
