English Courses in Canada
Name: Maribel Medina
Country: Columbia
What I enjoy most about my course is the plan the teachers follow, the length and the way the lessons are developed.
The PLI Intensive English and Super Intensive English courses are the most popular courses and offer a fast way to achieve fluency in English. The Intensive course is 20 hours per week and Super Intensive is 30 hours per week. Students take a combination of Communication skills and Specific skills classes.
| English Courses | Lessons*/Week | Levels | Length | Location | Start Dates |

| PLI Intensive English | 30 lessons (including core skills and specific skills classes | elementary
to advanced | 2 weeks + | Canada | Every 2nd Monday |

Core Skills lessons
At PLI, our Core Skills lessons are externally referenced to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and The Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE) Can-do statements. This allows you will work on the four skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking - while all the time being assessed against international standards.
Specific Skills lessons
Specific English skills classes focus on a specific area such as Listening and Vocabulary, Grammar and Writing, or Conversation and Pronunciation. You will take the classes which are most appropriate to your particular language learning needs.
Task Team Time
Task Team Time is task-based group work in which teams of 3 or 4 students work together to demonstrate their language abilities. Teams could be assigned the task of role-playing a daily scenario such as ordering in a restaurant or renting an apartment. Every 4th Friday, students will present their work to classmates and teachers, and will be graded. These tasks are based on the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE) and the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) Can-do statements which is the basis for most recognized international tests. If students can accomplish these can-do tasks at their level, they should be able to pass internationally recognized tests at their level.
