If you want to learn English in a city that has that magical combination of historical monuments, cultural hotspots, and unrivalled eateries, then the Canadian city of Toronto is the destination for you! Immerse yourself in its unique environment and fall in love with all it has to offer alongside other students from across the world.

Whether you’re an artist, foodie, athlete or musician, this city truly has something for everyone. Don’t believe us? Check out some of our favourite reasons why you should study in Toronto:

A sport lover’s paradise

If you’re into sports, then you can’t visit Toronto without sampling some of Canada’s most beloved games, such as baseball and ice hockey. Watch the Toronto’s Blue Jays live in action at The Rogers Center - a much loved centre that also hosts concerts! Will you be the one to catch the puck? There’s only one way to find out… book your flight now!

Near the majestic Niagara Falls

While Niagara Falls isn’t technically in Toronto, it’s not too far away, so we can’t not mention it! As one of the most impressive spectacles of water in the world, the history and sheer size of the falls make it one of the most momentous things any tourist can do when visiting the city.  If you choose to study with Kaplan, our student advisors organize group trips at the weekend to Niagara Falls, so you’ll be able to experience this Canadian wonder with ease (and with friends!)

Takes yourself to new heights

See Toronto from a bird’s eye view when you visit the iconic CN tower! Standing at 553 meters, this tower was once the tallest in the world until 2010 (when the Canton Tower took the top spot). Take in the breathtaking views of the beautiful Toronto skyline and nearby islands on Lake Ontario from either the observation deck or the famous revolving restaurant. No matter which one you pick, it’s sure to be an experience of a lifetime.

Foodie heaven!

Beyond the CN tower, Toronto has a wide range of restaurants, bars, cafes, and markets that have cemented its reputation as a Canadian culinary hub. Since the city is made up of different neighborhoods, each have their own international influences and specialities. You’ll be spoilt for choice! No matter what your budget is, in Toronto you’ll be able to enjoy a delicious meal served with that authentic Canadian-friendly charm. What more could you (and your taste buds) ask for?

Lively nightlife

As a vibrant cultural hub, Toronto isn’t short of after-hours venues to dance, network, or drink in. What sets these bars, clubs, and hotels apart from other cities, however, is their unique design: if you really want to experience the best of Toronto’s nightlife, head down to Queen Street and marvel at the brightly coloured buildings that transport you to another dimension ruled by glamor and decadence. Make sure you to pack your best dress (or suit)!

Peaceful green spaces

If you want to relax after those late nights dancing on tables, or just take a break from studying hard our Toronto school, then you’ll be glad to know that the city has an abundance of green spaces to help you reconnect with nature. Escape city-life without ever leaving the city at one of Toronto’s 1500 parks: enjoy the cherry blossoms of High Park or sunbathe on the beaches of Lake Ontario at Scarborough Bluffs Park.
